SWING is my story. My family moved to Ogema, a farming town in northern Wisconsin with about 300 people, when I was seven. I grew up a shy kid and became a mechanic, mostly so I wouldn't have to deal with people. Then I started letting a small seed of courage talk.
The book is practical, too. It walks through the twenty principles that helped me listen to the voice of courage instead of the voice of fear.

None of it was easy, and I wasn't fearless. I just started letting that seed of courage have a voice.

I'm a former auto mechanic. For years, when people asked what I did, I told them, "I'm only a mechanic." Today I'm an author and a speaker.
She's part of a lot of these stories, including the Sunday she wanted to leave a weekend event early to get home to the kids, and we argued the whole nine-hour drive. We live in Wisconsin and have five daughters.
